About our Membership Committee Chair
She was introduced to CreteCare Pro while overseeing operations for a private investment firm’s commercial property portfolio, where concrete repairs represented a significant capital expense. She quickly learned that concrete deterioration was often one of the portfolio’s largest and most complex repair costs.
CreteCare Pro provided a solution—stopping deterioration early and shifting concrete care from major capital repairs to planned preventive maintenance.
Meet the Board: Melissa Yuhas
Membership Chair
Meet Melissa Yuhas, NAWIC Atlanta’s Membership Chair and President of CreteCare Pro, a concrete protection and repair company helping extend the service life of commercial buildings and infrastructure.
Two years into her full-time career in construction, Melissa is already embracing opportunities to get involved, build relationships and grow. Her experience is a great reminder that you do not have to wait until you are decades into your career to step forward and become part of the industry community.
Career Journey
Melissa has worked full time in the construction industry for two years, and one skill has proven especially valuable throughout her career: saying yes.
Her introduction to CreteCare Pro began when she was tasked with remediating a commercial property to increase the asset’s value. After seeing how effectively the product protected and restored the concrete, Melissa said yes to an even greater opportunity—investing in the company and expanding its solutions into the commercial building and infrastructure markets.
Today, as President of CreteCare Pro, she works to help property owners protect, repair and extend the life of their concrete assets.
Being willing to say yes to new experiences, opportunities and connections has helped Melissa expand both her career and her involvement within the construction industry. It is a simple philosophy that led her to NAWIC Atlanta and, now, a position on the chapter’s Board of Directors.
Leadership
When asked what made her say yes to serving on the NAWIC Atlanta Board, Melissa’s answer was fitting: the leadership.
Now, as Membership Chair, she has the opportunity to help other women discover the same community and opportunities that drew her to NAWIC.
This year, Melissa hopes to encourage greater member engagement while providing opportunities for members to connect and grow. Whether someone is brand new to the chapter or has been involved for years, she wants every member to take advantage of the relationships, resources and experiences available to them.
Industry
For Melissa, saying yes can mean taking on a new challenge, introducing yourself to someone new, attending an industry event or stepping into a leadership opportunity before you feel completely ready.
That willingness led her to invest in CreteCare Pro, enter the commercial construction and infrastructure markets, expand her industry network and accept a leadership role within NAWIC Atlanta.
Her journey demonstrates how saying yes can open the door to experiences and opportunities you may never have anticipated.
Why NAWIC?
Melissa’s first NAWIC experience was a Monthly Business Meeting, and the connections she has made since then are what keep her coming back.
NAWIC has given her the opportunity to connect with women throughout the industry while gaining exposure to construction segments beyond her own day-to-day work.
Those relationships—and the opportunity to experience more of the industry—are at the heart of what she hopes to share with current and prospective members as Membership Chair.
Beyond Construction
When it is time to recharge, Melissa loves to travel.
One particularly memorable adventure remains on her bucket list: swimming with blue whales.
It certainly fits someone whose career philosophy is built around saying yes to new experiences. replace She was introduced to CreteCare Pro while overseeing operations for a private investment firm’s commercial property portfolio, where concrete repair and protection represented a significant portion of the portfolio’s maintenance and capital needs. She quickly learned that concrete deterioration was often one of the largest and most complex repair expenses.
That experience revealed an important opportunity: stopping deterioration early could reduce operating expenses, improve EBITDA, avoid substantial future capital expenditures and add immediate value to an asset. It also became clear that effective concrete protection and repair require specialized products and expertise—services that are increasingly needed across commercial properties, infrastructure, parking decks, resorts, entertainment venues and marinas.
