WIC Week Co-Chair
Meet Emmaleigh Micale, NAWIC Atlanta’s WIC Week Co-Chair. With a career rooted in construction and commercial real estate, Emmaleigh understands just how broad the built environment really is and how many opportunities exist within it. As part of NAWIC Atlanta’s leadership, she’s passionate about creating a community where women across every corner of the industry can connect, grow and support one another.
Career Journey
Emmaleigh was fortunate to get an early introduction to the construction and commercial real estate industries while she was still in college.
That exposure led to roles with CA Ventures and Peak Campus, where she developed a strong foundation in development and the built environment.
Those early experiences helped shape her career and introduced her to an industry with far more paths and possibilities than many people realize.
Leadership
This year, Emmaleigh hopes women throughout Atlanta’s construction industry find something especially valuable through NAWIC: community.
Whether members come together for an educational program, community engagement opportunity or social event, she wants them to know they’re surrounded by women who understand their experiences and genuinely support them.
“I want members to feel like they have a network of women who understand and support them.”
As WIC Week Co-Chair, Emmaleigh has an opportunity to help create exactly those kinds of connections while bringing women from across the industry together.
Industry
What’s one of the biggest misconceptions about construction? According to Emmaleigh, it’s the idea that construction is simply what happens on a jobsite.
The reality is much bigger.
The industry encompasses everything from initial design concepts and land development to community infrastructure, architecture, engineering, furnishings and countless other specialties that contribute to the built environment.
For Emmaleigh, recognizing that breadth is important because it opens the door to career paths many people may never have realized were part of construction.
There isn’t just one way to build a career in this industry.
Why NAWIC?
If Emmaleigh could convince someone to attend just one NAWIC Atlanta event, she’d naturally choose Women in Construction Week, especially the Gala.
It’s an opportunity to meet other women in the industry, form new relationships and spend time with people who simply get it.
“There’s something really special about being in a room full of women who understand the industry and are cheering each other on.”
That sense of support and connection is exactly what she hopes women experience throughout WIC Week and all year long through NAWIC Atlanta.
Beyond Construction
How does Emmaleigh describe herself in three words?
Connected. Caffeinated. Driven.
And frankly, we think that’s a pretty great combination for someone helping lead one of NAWIC Atlanta’s biggest weeks of the year.
